Don’t miss out! 4 weeks to go to enter the 2018 Golden Service Awards

LONDON, 4 September 2017 – The 2018 Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards recognising excellence in the cleaning industry is open for entries until Monday 2 October.  It is easy to enter one of the 14 categories, starting with a simple online form to give Facility Management Companies, Contract Cleaners, and in-house Cleaning Teams the opportunity to showcase excellence in the cleaning industry and set new benchmarking standards.

Kimberly-Clark Professional provides a detailed ‘How to enter’ document which includes key criteria on what the judges are looking for as well as hints and tips on how to produce a winning entry. The how to enter document and the entry form can be downloaded from the Golden Service Awards website http://www.goldenserviceawards.co.uk.

At the initial entry stage, you will need to complete the online form and provide a submission of 1,000 words and a client testimonial. Those applying for Cleaning Operative and Supervisor of the Year awards need to prepare a submission of up to 500 words.

“Kimberly-Clark Professional is committed to driving high standards in the washroom and is passionate about creating Exceptional Workplaces throughout the industry. We set up the Awards to recognise excellence and inspire the continual raising of standards across all areas of the cleaning industry,” says Peter Oliver, General Manager UK & Ireland, Kimberly-Clark Professional.  “The judges are looking for dedication, innovation, skills and certified competence from all entrants. We recommend keeping entries simple so judges can easily see the ‘winning’ details and excellence can be rewarded.”

Entry check list and top tips:

  • Make sure all questions in the online form are answered fully.
  • Keep entries as simple as possible and clearly stand out to the judges.
  • Make your submission different to the client testimonial.
  • Ensure that all your evidence is measurable.
  • The judges will need a good understanding of the facility in terms of site layout and difficulties faced as well as the effectiveness of staff and client communication.

The event will take place on 8 March 2018 at The London Hilton Park Lane, attended by hundreds of senior representatives from the contract cleaning and facilities management industries. Awards in 14 categories will be presented recognising excellence across healthcare, office, education, retail, manufacturing, hospitality, environmental and training sectors.

CSSA supports the GSA

The Kimberly-Clark Professional Golden Service Awards 2018 (GSA) has received the support of the Cleaning and Support Services Association (CSSA), the principle trade association for the cleaning industry that is driving professionalism and excellence through support, guidance and accreditation.  The association which works with cleaning companies across the sector, will be promoting the GSA and providing support to encourage cleaning companies to enter and be recognised for their achievements in the industry.

John Findlater, CEO, CSSA said; “The CSSA has a long history with the GSA. We are therefore delighted to be once again supporting the awards, and are anticipating that many of our members will enter one and attend the event as potential winners.”

“The CSSA has been synonymous with the GSA since its inception in 1991,” adds Peter Oliver.  As an influential industry body with a strong focus on excellence, we are proud to have their support as we continue to evolve the awards to have a stronger emphasis on raising standards in the industry though innovation, development and investment.

“Entries are now rolling in for the 2018 Golden Service Awards, so thank you to all those who have submitted so far.  Previous winners have enjoyed the recognition of receiving a high-profile industry award and we look forward to welcoming our finalists and winners to the event in March.”
